Grace, I love how this piece turned out. This is a beautiful ode to farmer's markets. I feel like anyone that works at a farmer's markets would read this and feel moved.

I also love seeing how you edit a piece and end up with the finished products. The choices you make, the feedback you decline. The compressions. The expansions. They are very helpful for me to watch and learn from. I'm glad to know such a fantastic writer.

Beautiful piece Grace. I was transported to the local market reading this, and I’m headed to the temple in about 3 hours. Thanks for sharing

So good Grace. This reminds me of a piece you wrote a while back, In Praise of Public Places. Your ability to bring us to a place with you, to experience it in all its sensory delight, is incredible. Sent this to my girlfriend immediately as we're big farmer's market fans and I knew she'd love it as much as I did. Thank you for sharing this.

This reminds me so much of our own public market in Vancouver. I have so many memories there after street performing for years just outside of the market center where the pedestrians would walk in. It also reminds me of the piece your wrote about your experience in India. I love taking these trips with you as you squeeze life out of the corners and shadows of ordinary places and show us the magnificence of their imperfections. "That’s because the food is real. And nothing about real food is convenient." Thank you for consistently taking us to the temple of the Real.
